Plaza de Mayo fenced, 1000 police control Buenos Aires

Bs. Ace. (ANRed/Indymedia Arg) - the national government began a police operation in the environs of Buenosairean City, to control the manifestations that are happening on the first anniversary of the popular rebellion of 19 and 20 of December of 2001. The Federal Police Argentina built a fence that blocks half the Plaza de Mayo and has more than 500 police of the corps of Infantry and other 500 agents spread across the capital center.
In the Plaza de Mayo, the officer in charge is Commissioner Clark of the Police station 2°, and already there are in place approximately 100 infantry. In addition there are 5 motorcycles, one armored car, and two armored busses with 60 police each in reserve
In the area of the Central bank where the "Urban piqute" is being held, 300 Federal Police are stationed, in charge of Commissioner Diaz of the police station 1°.
There are 5 groups of foot officers,, two of which are formed in front of the stock-market and the rest in cars and busses. It is calculated that 4 four additional groups of police are in the area without riot gear.
The police infantry have charge of the police central and the bomb squad. According to statements of commissioner Diaz, they are there for prevention and they would act "in case of great disturbances".
