Buenos Aires, 20 de diciembre de 2003. (ANRed).- Una mujer embarazada y tres niños de 10 años se encuentran internados en los hospitales Rivadavia y Pedro Elizalde de esta ciudad a causa de las heridas provocadas en la explosión de una bomba durante el acto del Bloque Piquetero a dos años de la caida del gobierno de Fernando De la Rua.

Sin embargo a pesar de las afirmaciones de que todos serían heridos leves, en el hospital Rivadavia fuentes sanitarias confirmaron que de las once personas derivadas allí, cuatro se encuentran en gravísimo estado y estaban siendo intervenidos quirúrgicamente esta medianoche.

Las quemaduras de los heridos mas graves se registran en los brazos y piernas y su identidad se mantiene en reserva ya que al cierre de este informe, los familiares de los heridos aún no saben de la situación.

La diputada de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires por el Movimiento Socialista de los Trabajadores, Vilma Ripoll, afirmó a ANRed que “hay un total de 23 heridos, de los cuales 11 se encuentran en el hospital Rivadavia, entre ellos una mujer embarazada” y confirmó que “hay dos niños de 10
años internados en el hospital Pedro Elizalde conocido como “Casa Cuna”y un tercero que se encuentra en el hospital Gutierrez”. También señaló Ripoll que “la mayoría de los heridos pertenecen al Movimiento independiente de Jubilados y desocupados (MIJD) que conduce Raúl
Castells y al Movimiento Socialista de los Trabajadores (MST), en tanto hay dos militantes del Polo Obrero (PO)”.

La legisladora porteña presente en la plaza cuando ocurrieron los hechos destacó indignada que “uno de los heridos tiene el 30 por ciento de su cuerpo quemado y había tres niños entre los heridos, sumados a los 18 adultos que fueron derivados a varios hospitales de la ciudad, entre ellos una embarazada de cinco meses con una herida en el pecho, de nombre Débora Crueto y de sólo 21 años, aunque el bebé en gestación está sano”.

En tanto el abogado del Polo Obrero, Gustavo Mendieta, expresó su disconformidad con el accionar de la Policía de Investigación quienes “pusieron dentro de bolsas de plástico elementos que encontraron muy cerca del lugar y no realizaron el rastrillaje que correspondía”.

Mendieta aseguró a nuestra agencia que la investigación en el lugar no fue tan intensa ni se buscó si había elementos u otros dispositivos en otros lugares de la plaza o calles proximas”. El abogado elevará un informe el lunes por la mañana al juez actuante en la causa Norberto Oyarbide. (ANRed)

Three Children and a Pregnant Woman Among Those Injured, 4 Undergoing surgery.

A pregnant woman and three 10 year old children are amongst the 23 people injured by a bomb that exploded in the plaza de mayo tonight. 4 are seriously injured.

They are now in the Rivadavia and Pedro Elizalde due wounds sustained when a bomb when off during a demonstration of the
Piquetero Bloc 2 years after the fall of the Fernando De la Rua
governement.

Nevertheless contrary to the reports that all were only lightly hurt sources from the Rivadavia hostpital confermed that of the 11 people taken there four are in a serious condition and are
undergoing surgery tonight.

The burns of the those most seroiusly wounded are to be found on the arms and legs and there identities are not being released as the time of this report. The families of the injured still don't know of the situation.

The deputy of the City of Buenos Aires for the Workers Socialist Movement, Vilma Ripoll, comfimed to ANRed that "there were in total 23 injured, 11 or which are in the Rivadavia hospital including a pregnant woman" and also confirmed that "there are two children of 10 years interned in the Pedro Elizalde hospital known as "Casa Cuna" and a third at the Gutierrez hospital".

Ripoll also noted that the majority of the injured belong to the Independent Movement of Pensioners and Unemployed (MIJD) that Raúl Castells leads, the Socialist Workers Movement (MST) aswell as 2 activists from from Polo Obrero (PO).

A Buenos Aires legislator present in the plaza during the incident emphasised that "one of the injured has burns to 30 percent of his body and has three children amongst the injured, added to the 18 adults that were taken to various hospitals in the city amongst those a woman 5 months pregnant, (Débora Crueto, 21), with a chest wound though the baby is said to be fine.

The lawyer of Polo Obrero, Gustavo Mendieta, expressed his disagreement with the actions of the Investigative Police who "put inside the plastic bags things that they found very close to the place and didn't match them with where they were found". (this final bit may be in accurate "didn't match them with where they were found"- is someone could add that would be great.)

Mendieta assured our agency that the investigation was not very rigorous and neither did they look if there were other elements or other devices in other parts of the plazas or the next streets. The lawyer wil raise the information monday morning to judge presiding over the case, Norberto Oyarbide.
