Private businessmans, in coordination with transnational enterprises, using as a command center the civic comitee proo Santa Cruz, "Comité Cívico Pro Santa Cruz", have a maquiavelic plot to stop and disable the social protest.
As in the times of the dictatorship, they are preparing self inflicted terrorist attacks, made by mercenaries hired by private enterprises to incriminate those who bother them. The objective is to stop social protest and justify the repression and even disappearence of social fighters and even organiations that stop them from controling in their hands natural resources, specially gas and land. We have to denounce it massively.

*Comment: not a literal translation, i am doing the best i can, Santa cruz is the most likely city for self inflicted terrorist attacks because it is one of the richest, with lots of gas and arable land, and because the rich have been organizing and campaining for a while claiming for autonomy and blaming the poor campesinos and indigenous people from the highands for bolivia's economic and social disaster*

We denounce a maquiavelic plot to stop protests in Bolivia, in the city of Santa Cruz.

They are campaigning through the media, wich are property of bussinessmans linked to power groups and transnational enterprises. The plan consists in spreading terror throughout the population by manipulating information, distorting the meaning of bolivians struggle for the recovery of hydrocarbons and promoting clashes between races and cities as La paz against Santa cruz, the want to sow chaos, violence, insecurity, panic, to justify afterwards some form of authoritarian government, constitutional or not.

As it has probably already been heard at international level, past friday, thirteen of may, a terrorist attack against a high level employee of a transnational enterprise, petrobras, happened. It has received lot of attention from the media, and then a group of people claimed in a video to be the authors, they called themselves "frente nacional anticorrupción"national anticorruption front. It is obvious that the video is a fake. There are many inconsistencies in the message of this supposed terrorists, and the voice does not even correspond with the image, anyone can see its falsehood, suspecting that it is a self inflicted attack, planed and measured (damage hs been very light, considering that there were no victims) and this organization is nothing more thatn an invention (during Goni's government they invented another guerrilla group called EDN).

The worst is that now they are fulfilling the second part of this mediatic plot, saying irresponsably through the tv (red uno network) that a trotskyt group of Gabriel rené Moreno university is behind the attack. They are specifically targeting this against young José Canaza, ramiro Escalera and franz Roca. This last distinguished student of the language career, and leader of the "Santa cruz comitee for the recuperation of hydrocarbons", comité cruceño por la recuperación de los hidrocarburos. Without any evidence and happily they say that investigations point to them.

Here we can clearly see that they are trying to incriminate this young students because fo two things:

First, to isolate the struggle that they are carring for the recovery of hydrocarbons, making them seem as a dangerous terrorist group, and so madmen unworthy of notice, best left alone and far. By this they want to behead the nascent comitee for the recovery of hydrocarbons and nullify its protest actions against transnationals.

Second, once isolated comes the worst. With the people demobilized and beheaded their leadership is easy to defeat, then they would proceed to prosecute, kidnap and comit acts of violence against those that have been marked as terrorists, justifying what they do to preserve security, or even that a dangerous terrorist does not deserve to live.

This, also comes with a series of bomb threats in different places, and especially big private enterprises, to scare and sow panic and contribute to the state os chaos to justify an authoritarian government that "guarantees peace".

This maqiavelic plot is nothing new, because it already happened during the dicatorship, when fascist groups commited terrorist attacks against themselves to incriminate opposers or social sectors. Then with the justification that they were terrorists, they detained, kidnapped, tortured and assasinated hundreds of persons between them labour student leaders, sindicalists, journalists, etc. They want to do it again.

Here is our preocuppation, tht some people want to anhilate or make compañeros, partners of struggle, and organizations brave enough to face the groups of power disappear.

This is why we deounce preemptively what they will try, we denounce this maquiavelic plot, and we call with all our strength all social organizations and persons compromised with human rights, and the defense of the most impoverished sectors to make an international campaign so that all know what is happening in bolivia, and specifically in Santa Cruz and in that way protect the life of compañeros, who are fighting. We have to make a solidarity campaign and permanent movilization, trying to add up more and more people, demonstrating that our struggle is one fo the majorities, and thus with our strength, our unity, our dignity, we will make this powerfull monster that throws desperate blows to retain its privileges, fall back, we are talking about private enterprise and transnationals.

if something happens to the integrants of the comitee for the recuperation fo hydrocarbons and other persons that work in social institutions and journalists critical of transnationals, it is the sole responsibility of private businessmans and their organs of power like the civic comitee pro santa cruz and fascist bands of paid mercenariesof the santa cruz youth union and camba nation.
